Ohh god, don't get me started on 'Tempe' and 'Seeley'. It's like with Monopoly, "Stop, go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not pick up $200" *facepalm*

And I can even kinda buy him calling her Temperance, but only once, not again and again throughout the fics, b/c he's called her that on the show every once in a while..

Guh. Somedays I'm positive babyfic is the center of all evil in fandom.

I didn't like Sully much, but he's gone, we're not dealing with him right now, and I actually like Cam.. she kinda gets them back on track sometimes, and she gets a lot of the fun snarky lines =D

I can totally handle it when he calls her 'Temperance', because her does call her that at times one the show. And I could understand if, when they got into a serious relationship, she decided to start calling him 'Seeley' under similar 'we're being serious' situations (I doubt, for example, he'd want to hear her shouting 'Booth' in bed!), but not all the frickin' time.

I usually like baby fic in fandom, but Brennan has repeatedly stated that she DOES NOT WANT KIDS! Therefore, it is OoC. If you want me to believe it, write a decent God damn plot and make it a believable situation! I can't, for example, see her having an abortion if she got pregnant, but I definitely can't see her choosing to get pregnant. *shrug* I dunno.

Sully was okay, but I hated Cam on sight and I have no idea why! Seriously, she's sarcastic and funny, which is normally my call to love someone, but I REALLY disliked her with an inexplicable passion! And it wasn't the Cam/Booth, because I liked Rebecca. I wouldn't have minded if Booth and Rebecca got back together, actually, but Cam just bugs me. I occasionally decide I really like her, but it never lasts!

If babyfic is well written, I like it, for example I've got no problem reading a well written JAG babyfic or one for the X-files, because those are both examples where it was wanted. With Bones though, I can't see her having an abortion either, and what really puts me off is when you get a fic where they get together and 5 minutes later she's thinking 'I know I've always said I don't want kids but I want them with him.'

Lol, Sully was one of those characters I felt myself tolerating and going 'how many episodes left in this arc?' I don't particularly miss him. I almost hated CAm at first, then I started being objective and figured out that apart from the Booth thing, I liked her..

Ugh, it *really* pisses me of reading fics where she SUDDENLY decides that OMG she wants kids all of a sudden, because, hey, it's Booth. *headdesk* Over time I could see it happening, but not ten minutes into a relationship.

See, I wish I could figure out why I don't like Cam, because I *should* lve her! SHe has all the prerequisites to be one og my FAVOURITE characters ever. The only thing I should have an issue with is the one thing that I don't. I mean I didn't like Cam/Booth, but I knew it wouldn't last. Gah, I don't know. I'm on an 'I don't mind her' bit atm. hopefully it'll turn into OMG I LOVE HER, because she *is* kinda cool.

If you read the novels (which don't have a Booth), Temperance is regularly called Tempe. That's how she's known. 'Temperance' is the unusual one in the books. So I suppose it's feasible that while the books and series are different (and hello, Booth isn't in the books) authors may well be extrapolating from the books.

But yeah, not so much of an excuse.

Although the main character might be the same, there's the fact that the show has a different dynamic. Booth has never called her 'Tempe' on the show (and I really hope he never does!), so it's illogical for him to suddenly start doing so in fic. Even if the other charcters in the show and books do. Same situation with her calling him Seeley; she never does. I could understand it occassionally if the writer had already got them together, but not all the time.

So, yeah, valid point, but I would like to take this opportunity to cock my gun and shoot it down :p

All of which is true. I think what I was getting at was not so much that they were the same, but that fic writer may have used the books to help them extrapolate what could happen. ie I highly doubt that anyone (ie fic writer) would come up with the name 'Tempe' on their own, so when they saw it in the book they decided that 'Tempe' might be quite a good name for Booth to call Bones when they got involved (I'm assuming that Tempe was in ship fic). So theyt didn't take the books as canon, just used them to help create their own canon.

It still show spectatularly bad taste on behalf of the fic writers tho, for them to not realise that using 'Tempe' was juat all kinds of awesomely bad writing and characterisation. Even in ship fic, I can't see Booth calling her Tempe.

I only ever wrote two and one's not finished. The other is just a short PoV fic.

I've got one that's vaguely Dax/Julian (It's Ezri's PoV, but there are hints of Julian/Jadzia, as well, I think). It's called Walking in Her Footsteps (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/238034/1/). I also started another one from Ezri's PoV called Pieces of You (http://www.fanfiction.net/r/824736/0/1/), but there's only a prologue written and I never went back to it.

I only really watched season 7, because I adored Ezri and I'd always liked Julian and, naturally, The Cheif, because he was in TNG, damnit! Although, I'd always wanted Kira/Julian and was disappointed when they made it Odo/Kira. However, Ezri showed up and all was well with the world. I was never really interested in it in the beginning and I thought it left a lot to be desired and I hated that the entire show seemed to be one big story arc. Season 7, though, was fab. I loved it. Although,

I thought Odo/Kira worked pretty well. I've never been a huge fan of the two of them, but they made a nice item. However, I never got into Ezri... Probably because I was so bummed that my beloved Jadzia was gone. *le sigh* It's also pretty much when I stopped watching regularly.
