WWE related post

Okay, I know my list isn't as full of WWE people as it is for other genres, but I'm hating that I can't watch wrestling at the moment (I don't have Sky) and have, therefore, been overdosing on karenfic's writing instead. Which is never a bad thing! ;)

That coupled with the fact that I'm not able to get online very much, means that I'm in the mood to do something.

So...who of all you who are into the genre, would be interested in a ficathon? I'd open it up outwith my own friends list, of course, but there's no point in doing it at all if there's no interest.

I know that darlakane dabbles in fic that she rarely posts (but is very good!) and that karenfic practically invented the genre as far as fanfic is concerned (imho), and I want to get my muses going again, but three people does not a ficathon make.

So, who's interested/knows people who are interested?

It'd give me something to organise and lots of fic to read at the end. I'd post on my yahoo group and on any other related groups that would allow me to pimp it and if anyone has other ideas, feel free to tell me!

A large portion of my friends list - okay, pretty much all of it - are wwe people, and some of them do write fic... They're all on my yahoo group, and if you decide to try to do a fic-a-thon, you can post info at the KarenFic yahoo group to see if there's interest.

(Glad I could give you at least a little bit of a WWE fix, by the way...)

Thanks for your help and for agreeing to sign up. I have about five people now, so, even if it's not a full blown ficathon, I still think it'll be fun to see what you all come up with.

I hope this doesn't sound too stupid but since I never felt comfortable asking in other places 'cause I know the question is just dumb... What exactly IS a ficathon? I've grasped that overall concept that you write fics about a certain subject/over a certain amount of time but what are the details?

You could always pimp your idea in some of the other wrestling fic comms out there. Let's see which ones I've got on my flist...

I think there's also a Lita fic comm out there called lita_fic. or something along those lines. Ask my friend and_only for details on that. I'm sure she knows (and writes awesome fanfics herself, by the way).

Well, there are a few dfferent kinds of ficathon from what I've seen. But the way I'll be doing this one (if it goes ahead) is: people sign up and they fill in a 'form' (I'll show you below) saying their name, etc and then the person running the ficathon (me in this case) will assign everyone with a person to write for. They person will write whatever they want, but will include the proviso's asked for. e.g.

Name: Kyizi
Two things I want in a fic: Lita/HBK pairing, Stacy as Lita's friend
Two things I DO NOT want in a fic: Trish as a goodie, Randy as a bad guy

One thing I DO NOT want to write: Slash

Ah, like the Christmas fics and Halloween fics back on ST. I see. Only bad thing is... I suck at just that. I never even managed to write a story to that challenge by a friend of mine back in my Angel fic days. *le sigh*

I don't think so, but I'm sorry to hear that. I was going to leave it general WWE, but that can be such a wide scope. Tell you what, drum me up some support for this and I'll make the next one a Shawn one ;p

I'll think about it, alright? I'm just bad when it comes to writing stories for people 'cause I can't really work with requirements from others for a story. Only certain characters in certain pairings work for me, and the rest I just don't care about, you know? So taking on challenges is hard for me.

And right now I'm in my "I suck at writing phase" anyway. :( Somehow I don't really like a single thing I've tried writing recently. It's annoying.

Yeah, I know exactly how you feel. I'v been in a rut for a while and it's only this new lita comm and the challenges on it that have inspired me lately. Am hoping that'll give me enough momentum to finish Cry Me A River tonight. *fingers crossed*

And don't feel pressured by me! I'm just trying to drum up some entrants. As well as that, I love what you've done of Sand in my Shoes and, when your muses feel so inclined, it'd be great to read more of that fic and your writing in general.
