Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire...
Allow me to begin with OMFG! *squee*
Okay, this will be divided into parts, so that you can read what you want and skip the rest! There will be plenty of spoiler space between each section and at the end, so that you can read and reply without worrying about seeing bits you don't want to. If you're reading it all, sorry, you'll have to put up with all the huge spaces in between!
*whimper*
Seriously, I was speechless for so long after it. It was absolutely FANTASTIC. I loved it to BITS. It was funny, really funny, exciting, heart warming, heart wrenching, sad, on the edge of your seat OMG what's happening next, PERFECT! *squee*
Sure, they missed out chunks of storyline and they changed things, but unlike the other films, these bothered me less, as I could completely see why it was those particular things. The story kind of jumps around a bit, especially at the start, and that grates if you pay a lot of attention to it; what I mean is that it seems to be done in episodes, i.e. it's like lots of events that aren't really strung together, they're just there. However, this isn't necesarily a really bad thing as it gets a lot more into the story without worrying about continuity errors, because everything is contained. Am I making sense? Hope so!
I'm likely to mention this below when I talk about Harry, but can I just say 'hats off to Daniel Radcliffe'. He's AMAZING. I could see bits in parts of the other films where I felt as if he was having to force his emotions, but this is just perfect. I mean, seriously, I can't fault him in the slightest, especially with the end, but I won't talk about that in this section, because that would involve spoilers!
I really don't think I could praise this film enough. I want to see it a million times more! It's just not something I could ever tire of. I think the fact that they're older and using loads of innuendo (seriously, it's fab!) makes it more accessable to the slightly older fans. *shrug* I dunno. I just loved it.
In other words, GO SEE! At the earliest available opportunity! NOW if you can!!!

All of the following sections will have film spoilers in them, but there will also be space between each cut in case you only want to read some of them.
This next cut has MAJOR SPOILERS in it. I mean, seriously, if you want to read it, do so at your own risk. I'll likely post a link back to this post after the film has been released anyway, but this talks in depth about what they do and don't have in the film and what they do differently. I don't go into everything, but there's a fair bit.
The Story
Okay, so they skip out bits like...
Rita Skeeter's status as an animagus, Draco talking to her, and most of that storyline actually, but what she is in is great and you don't miss anything for having had that part slimmed down to it's minimum. Heh, although I have to mention the MAJOR innuendo with the broom cupboard! Hah, it ventures on creepy given the respective age difference! That scene is great.
There's no BILL!!! I've been getting all excited about seeing my Bill on screen and that bit was cut, or never filmed! Mrs. Weasley isn't in the film at all as they merge the start into lots of little bits, which is actually a lot better, even if I was so upset not to actually see the quidditch match. It's really annoying! You get to see the teams come out, loads of effects and then BAM! You're back in the Weasley's tent with the twins and Harry (even Ginny a little) ripping the piss out of Ron for fancying Krum. Heh, it's great.
Ooh, random; you hear Hermione, Hagrid and Ron singing the school anthem in the background when they're in the forest. They're all singing the same tune, but it's still there!
Bagman's not in it, but I didn't really miss that storyline too much.
OMG, I have to groan over one part,..although it's actually really funny! The entrance by Beauxbatons is hilarious and so CHEESY! Durmstrang really isn't much better, but again, quite funny.
After the first task, Harry gets right into playing up for the Gryffindors and all I could think was how great it was to see him acting like a real teenager! Hah!
Padma and Parvati both appear to be Gryffindors, which is just...odd.

This is just a wee break down of what I thought of certain characters/actors/interactions. There will STILL BE SPOILERS in these cuts.
Harry/Daniel
Allow me to start by saying how glad I am that DR has reached legal age and the bath scene won't reserve us all a smoky, fiery place in the lowest level of HELL! No one that young should be allowed to look that good. That's all I'm saying on the subject!
mental_midget, you know what I mean!
Okay, this guy seriously impressed me. The acting at the end, in and after the graveyard had my heart stopping. It's not forced in the slightest and I wanted to curl into a ball and cry for him. It's just so simple and so powerful and just...wow. Seriously. I can't actually express enough how much I loved him in this film. Not to mention the little bugger's filthy mind coming to the fore! Heh, so funny.
I could comment on every aspect of the film and what I thought about how he played it, but that would likely bore you and get you all annoyed at me for spoiling EVERYTHING for you! Plus, hello, time consuming...not that I'd complain, except that my muse may just have come out of hibernation thanks to this film (do dragons hibernate? well, Jeffrey does!).
LOVE HIM!
Hermione/Emma
I think I'll likely mention this again a few times, but I loved her in the fight after the ball. The way she just slumps onto the stairs and cries after the boys have left is just so sad! Emma really comes into her own in this film, despite the fact that I think we've lost book Hermione a little too much. I think I like this Hermione just as much, if not more, simply because Emma plays her beautifully. She's very good at bringing out a certain chemistry with everyone she's on screen with, a natural easy chemistry and I love it.
Ron/Rupert
Ron's far from being my favourite character and I always thought that Rupert was a little too hammy with him, despite being good and being very funny. However, in this film I not only like him, but I think he's natural. He reminds me a lot of one of my little brothers friends from high school actually! I really liked him in this film and I really loved the interaction he had with everyone.
The Trio
They really are best friends. There's nothing else to it. I'd even go so far as to say, screw wanting Harry/Hermoine for the films, I just don't want any romance to interfere anywhere, because the trio's perfect the way it is. Daniel, Emma, and Rupert are just fantastic and the fact that they've grown together both as actors and friends over the last few years comes across beautifully. I loved it and, more often than not, this film shows them as really, really, really close friends, as it should.

Harry/Hermione vs Ron/Hermione - for abby_i
Okay, I'll start off by *squee*-ing! There is SO MUCH Harry/Hermione! Seriously! They're really trying to get the Hermione/Ron to work and, I have to admit, it works a lot better in this film and OMG Emma made me want to cry during the row after the ball, but I won't spoil it all for you. There is some Hermione/Ron this time, but I just don't see it as more than friends to be honest. The soon-to-be-romance isn't really forced, but it's not really there either. There are some oh-so-cute moments between Harry and Hermione, but other than that, it's just about their friendship and I love that. The Hermione/Harry was like that a lot; you'd believe they were closer than Ron and Harry were, but there's serious chemistry between Daniel and Emma that they just love to flaunt! If you're comparing, I'd have to be honest and say...'prepare yourself for Harry/Hermione, because it wins hands down'!. But more than that, the friendships are just right.

Krum and Hermione/Krum, plus Harry in relation
Krum is adorable! I'm sorry, I love him! He's so cute and he looks terrified of his rabid teenybopper fanclub at times! Hee! And there are these adorable little glances between him and Hermione, which is just SO CUTE. There's also this ADORABLE, and hilarious, chat between Harry and Hermione, where Hermione points out that 'Victor's more of a physical guy'...to which Harry tries not to laugh and she digs in deeper and deeper and it's just so funny! I'm not going to spoil it completely, but OMG so funny!

Ron and Harry's Friendship, the Dreaded Dancing Leasons with McGonagall, and the Yule Ball!
These guys are regular teenagers who are friends. It sounds like a weird statement to make, but what I mean is that it's so natural and I love the fighting. It's REAL. Ron even tells Harry to 'piss off'! *g* It's just great. There's no more exagerated facial expression (well, a few, maybe! But it works!) or little kiddie friendship, it's two teenagers who fight when they can't get along, talk about how hard it is to get a date because girls 'travel in packs', and just have a laugh. It's fab. I really love these two.
And, oh, the dancing lessons! Allow me to just laugh and laugh and laugh, it was even funnier than Ron's dress robes! ;) The twins and Harry have some really cool interaction here, too.
The Yule Ball was great. I really liked it even though it wasn't what I expected and even though Hermione's wearing pink (it's a really pretty dress, actually, it's just meant to be blue!). However, the best bit had to be the talks about Hermione before hand. I love Harry pointing out that they'd tease her if she told them who she was going with and Ron's being adamant that she was sitting in her room alone, however, Harry's reaction to her in the dress? *squee* so cute! And Kudos to Emma Watson for the fight afterwords. She was fantastic and she makes your little heart ache for her! Adorable.

Ginny
I actually loved her in this! Those of you that remember far enough back will recall that I really wasn't keen on Bonnie as Ginny, not in the slightest. She wasn't my Ginny and I didn't take to her in any of the previous films. However, despite not being in it a lot, the director seemed to really use her and she's more a part of the group now. She's beginning to get her quirks and she's talking more and I just really like her now! Some of her lines to tease her brothers etc are just ...GINNY! *g* Am very happy now. Maybe the realisation that she gets to kiss Daniel in a few years has her coming out of her shell! LoL!
The Twins
Are gorgeous. It's official! Heh, not to mention the fact that they just get better with every film. Again, wasn't keen on them in the first film, but they grow on me more and more with each film and now I just WANT THEM! Hah! I really love their friendship with Harry in this film. In fact I loved it in the last one, too, but they're about more in this one and I just love the interaction. They're dead chummy with Harry and the way the three of them (and sometimes Ginny) are teasing Ron all the time is just so cute.
Cedric
...is a bit of a prat actually. I wasn't keen on him. I mean, there were moments when I though, yeah, he's cute, but I didn't take to him like I did in the book. Perhaps he reminded me a little too much of some of the prats I went to school with.
Neville
I love Neville! However, Neville can DANCE. Seriously. He can DANCE. And he does. With Ginny. ALL NIGHT. It's just wrong, and yet I loved it. I have to say that, although they touch on it, they don't explain anything about his parents which annoyed me, because the wee man's trying so hard to make people notice in this film! It's really well done, I only wish we'd got more of an explanation than Karkaroff's sentencing in the pensieve when he rats out Barty Crouch Jr. (Yes, you read that right).
Draco
Draco! World Cup! SUIT!!! *dies*
*ahem* I really like Draco in this one, he's hardly in it, he's mostly in the background, but I just thought he was so much more natural in it. I really like the way he just randomly appears...up a tree, for instance...
Moody
I actually like Moody. He's not quite my Moody, but it works better. You suspect him less, even though you know who he is. I don't know, I didn't mind him, although the eye was a bit too toy-looking for my liking.
Barty Crouch Jr.
Okay, I have to be honest and say that (a) I'm now looking forward to seeing DT as Doctor Who, despite the fact that (b) I didn't like Barty Crouch. I didn't like the way he came across; it seemed as though he'd been the the Ronald Weasley school of acting ala film one.
*hides*
I just though it was a bit too much. I'm not sure. Maybe he'll grow on me with more viewing.
Dumbledore
Okay, I realise he'll never replace our first and only Dumbledore, but he was perfect for this film. You totally believe that Lord Voldemort would be scared of him. I'm a little scared of him! He was a darker character in parts of the film that he wasn't in the book, but it kinda works. I actually liked it. I think the only bit I didn't like was the slight unsettling feeling I got seeing him devoid of hope in himself, just after Harry looks into his pensieve. It's a little...off, which makes it kinda creepy, at least to me! But I really liked that.

Cho Chang
Cho is Scottish! *g*
Cho is really sweet.
Cho is on the Hogwarts Express...which I find odd. Why would a Scottish student travel all the way to London only to have to come all the way back? *shrug* it's still really cute.
In the books I found that I really didn't like Cho and I really didn't buy Harry fancying her, I'm not sure why, I just didn't. In the film, however, she's lovely and Daniel is ADORABLE playing on the crush.

Snape and Karkaroff
Snape is actually barely in it, which is a shame. However, what's totally bizarre is that he's the one providing the comic relief! It's absolutely hilarious at some of his parts. Alan Rickman must have had a blast doing some of it. However, he really just isn't in it a lot.
I wasn't really sure about Karkaroff, to be honest. He's just not really in it a lot, is the problem, I think, because he was actually great. *shrug* I dunno!

*shrug* I dunno!

a short note on Snape/Hermione for Stevie_Jane - read at your own risk, honey!
I'm so sorry, sweetie, but there's only one small bit of interaction between them. However, you can always read into the few seconds if you really want to!

I'm beginning to think Emma Watson could have chemistry with a cardboard box...or at least every cute guy in this film! I love Hermione/George (don't ask me why George and not Fred!) and there are some really cute moments with her and the twins. I couldn't help myself from planting the seed before you all go to see it! Bwahahaha!

Allow me now to finish with the following statement; I WANT A HUNGARIAN HORNTAIL! It's so PRETTY! *g* (And that's not a spoiler, just my dragon love!)
Ooh, and talking of dragons, I actually want the cute little copies they get out of the bag as well! They're ADORABLE! *g*
Anyway, I better be offskee. I haven't eaten yet. Hopefully will be on later to read the f-list.

I really hope it is that good. I'm almost looking forward to it now. What I will say tho, how the hell can one be spoiled for the film? Yes, I know, I say that and I still didn't read what you'd written, but still... It seems to be ohmygod so crazy!

some people don't want to know what's missing and what's not. They don't want to know the way things are done.
Yeah, you're right. I couldn't actually figure out why I wasn't reading reviews etc, but that's it... *g* The amounts of clips and photos that are floating around, I'm surprised that anyone is going in unspoiled!
