Friends Only -- well, kinda!

Welcome to my fandom LJ. If you're only here to read my fanfiction, or nick some of my icons then you should still be able to access those posts as I leave them unlocked.
You will find a masterlist of my fics here.
Please note that you can also get my fic from my Yahoo Group, KyiziFic, or on my ff.net profile. The slightly older stuff can be found at my webpage, KyiziDotCom.
In no particular order my main fandoms are:
Farscape, Stargate:SG1, Stargate: Atlantis, Bones, Superatural, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Harry Potter, WWE (Wrestling), Gilmore Girls, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica (still not seen season 4, do not spoil me!), Private Practice, The X-Files, Alias (haven't seen S5), Lost (still only at half way through season 2), and Charmed. There are others, but those are the main ones.
So, if you want to be friended, stick in a wee reply to this post.

I would like to point out that I moved to Edinburgh because it was the first place I got a job after Sunderland ate my soul! Seriously. Never move to Sunderland. EVER. It is a tiny wee ned-filled town with delusions of grandeur. I was tricked there, I tell you! Reid Kerr said it was the only uni we could go to to get our degree in a year (they do a bridging course from the HND that allows you to go straight into third year), but they lied. They LIED! There were three other places and none of them were in fecking Sunderland.
So, yes, that means I have a degree. I got a BA in Drama. Which is good, except that it left me too broke to be an out of work actor and I ended up in Edinburgh.
Oh, how I've failed at life so far! ;) But I do have plans. Yes, plans I have...we'll just allow me my dreams that they will materialise one day.
As for Legal Aid...let me tell you that I now completely understand your decision to leave your Law degree. I mean, I got it before, but now? Well, after the last six months of spending each day wanting to poke my eyes out with a blunt pencil, I get it even more. Trust me when I say that a job change is in my (hopefully) very near future!
It's great that you have a flat (although, I agree, the mortgate must be scary!). I'd love my own space, but I like my current flatmate (if you ever want to know about TERRIFYING experiences with flatmates at any point, I can fill you in about the previous two sometime *shudders*), so it's not so bad.
What kind of dog do you have?
And, yeah, I wish I could say I was a physicist. I'd love that. I so intend to go back one day...you know, after I've made my millions in acting and writing books...yeah, again with the dreams. Meh, we all have them.
I like your LJ name btw. It sounds familiar, but I can't figure out why! I'm likely just going mad ;)

I've always had a lhasa apso! She's still the same, except she now has her own room. As for terrifying experiences with flatmates, you should hear stories about my neighbours.
I'm off to Windermere for the whole of next week to learn to play nice with other kids. The EPSRC fund my "continuing training" so I completely took advantage and booked myself into the longest GRAD school that they have. Unfortunately, the weather's suddenly taken a turn for the worst so I may live to regret choosing one with a day of outdoor activities. Also, I'll miss House :'(.
Almassy is my misspelling of the main character's name from The English Patient.
Anyway, I'm off to continue packing. At the moment, I'm wondering how many books to take.

I thought you meant you had another dog! I'm glad it's the same one, very, very cute dog...even if I am highly alergic. You know one day I'm actually going to buy a pet. If it doesn't kill me. And, I guess, it could, since I really want a cat called Schrodinger (yeah, okay, I'm a sad, sad git!).
Also, her own room!? Heh, that's excellent!
Eesh, outdoor activities in this weather? I so do not envy you. I'll have my fingers crossed that it doesn't snow or anything. *shiver* You can tape House, can't you? (I assume you're talking about the show and not your actual house...although, if I'm wrong, I'll look like the idiot, so no difference there!) Or
download*cough* borrow it from someone. And, hey, outdoor stuff with other people is...character building? (that's what you're supposed to say instead of pointing out the weather, right?) ...I'm so not helping. Shutting up here :)You know, I've still never seen The English Patient *hides*
As for books...take them all? Erm, okay, actually, I've seen your library, whuch I'm sure has grown, so that doesn't work. Good luck with that!
And (despite my attempts above) have fun! I'm sure you will... I'll hope to hear from you at the other end. Am sure you'll have lots of...character building stories! *g*

The weather was actually quite good, especially yesterday and Wednesday, when we were climbing trees and running across rope bridges like some demented version of The Crystal Maze.
Anyway, I'm going to eat something and try to repress the last week.

Also, it's good to know that the weather was okay. I've been freezing for about three weeks now. I think icicles might be thinking about forming on my fingertips. Which would look pretty, but be a total pain to deal with, me thinks.
My posting might be a bit sporadic for the next fortnight. I'm finally getting the internet back in my flat some time around the 4th of April (happy day!). After that I should be back online properly (after about two years!). I'll be starting a personal journal then, as well as this one (which I'm keeping as a fandom journal). Would you mind if I friended you?

Glad to hear you're getting the internet at your flat, I don't know what I would do without my broadband. At the moment, I'm abusing my bandwith to download 30-odd episodes of Grey's Anatomy. I have a thing for Patrick Dempsey just now.
Yes, friend me if you want.

Ah, so I guess the team building was lots of fun, then...heh, and I imagine that fishnets and basques weren't the choice of clothing at the actual event, so it would have made quite the impact.
I love Grey's Anatomy. I'm still at the end of season 2 (has S3 started yet? I imagine it has). I've been living off Laura's downloads for over a year now and I only get them when she has the chance...which isn't very often, actually.
And, yeah, Patrick Dempsey is a perfectly good reason to watch Grey's... :)
*goes to friend*
(I haven't been posting much lately -- except my moment of utter stupidity -- for the above mentioned reason, and my personal LJ isn't really up and running yet. Well, it's up, just not quite running. More of a slow walk atm)

I couldn't get into Bones at all. I just think it's too silly and DB isn't my kind of FBI agent... not Jewish enough ;).
Season 3 of Grey's has started but I'm still in the middle of S2 atm. E-mail me your address and I'll post you a few episodes of the new season (lapse_of_concentration@hotmail.com). Spreading the Dempsey love.
Anyway, I have a training course just now so I'm offsky.

I like Bones, but I have to say that if I hadn't borrowed the whole season and watched it in a weekend, I might not like it as much! Kate (my flatmate) and I just kept hitting next...it was quite sad, really, but we were both feeling a little crappy, so we have an excuse!
OMG *loves* I'll go email you now *g*
Hey, guess what, I'm on line...in my flat!
*g*
Another training course? You're very busy. I'm currently drowning in files at work. It seems that, the more paperwork one does, the more work they end up with in response to it and it keeps on breeding. Like bunnies. Which we both know are evil and trying to take of the world.
